Week 9: The Queen of Squash 🥗👑
For my blog this week, I want to focus on our last agency project for the T.E.A.M. team's content reel 🎥.
My teammate Tia and I decided to review a restaurant from Peoria called Queen of Squash 🥗👑. We already knew about this place since I celebrated my birthday there 🎉, and we wanted to create content for them because they have a really good reputation as a local restaurant. So, what is the Queen of Squash? Queen of Squash started as a small, family-run restaurant built on a passion for bringing fresh, flavorful food to the community. It was founded by two sisters who grew up cooking together 👩🍳👩🍳, to create a space where people could enjoy healthy, seasonal dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. What began as a weekend farmers market stand quickly grew into a full-fledged restaurant, known for its creative takes on classic comfort foods 🍲. Today, Queen of Squash continues to blend homemade charm with a modern twist, making it a favorite spot for anyone who loves good food and good vibes.
When I first visited, I was seriously impressed. It’s one of the coziest and most aesthetic restaurants I’ve been to — definitely a great spot for a photoshoot 📸! On top of that, the food is amazing and super fresh 🥑🍉. I tried the Pesto Bowl, Watermelon Salad, Princess Grace mocktail, Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread, and a few other dishes that I honestly forgot because everything was so good.
Queen of Squash is definitely one of the reasons why Peoria has some hidden restaurant gems. If you're looking for healthy, green, veggie-focused meals 🥬, this place is a must-try.
Overall, we rated the restaurant 9/10 because of its beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and overall welcoming environment. I would totally recommend checking it out sometime!
I had such a great time working on this project with you! Queen of Squash was the perfect pick — not just because of the food (which was so good) but also because of the story behind it. You can really feel the love and creativity the sisters put into everything there. It was fun turning our visit into content and showing off one of Peoria’s gems. Definitely a 9/10 experience for me too — we might have to go back just for the mocktails alone 😄👑🥗
