Travel Experience: Mexico
One of my biggest dreams has always been to travel the worldš. So, for my blog this week, I want to share the story of my trip to Mexico! This was my first time traveling without my parents, and honestly, I was pretty nervous at first. But I was lucky enough to be with the kindest peopleāpeople who took care of me and showed me around their beautiful country.
Before this trip, the only other country I had been to be the Philippines, where I grew up. Now, I can finally add Mexico to my list! And surprisingly, Mexico reminded me a lot of the Philippines. I had seen videos and heard stories about it, but being there in person was a whole different experience. The similarities were crazyāthe food, the way we count in our languages, the fact that we both call our money "pesos." And while both countries have areas that are struggling, they also have some of the most stunning natural landscapes and historical architecture Iāve ever seenāespecially the churches, which I completely fell in love withāŖ
One of the funniest things that happened was people assuming I was Mexican. Because Iām Filipino with Hispanic ancestry, I wasnāt too shocked when at least five people came up to me and started speaking Spanishābut I had no idea how to respond!
We spent two weeks in Puerto Vallarta, staying at an all-inclusive hotel right by the beach, ššš and it was absolutely unreal. Free food, free drinks, non-stop entertainmentāI felt so spoiled! One thing that blew my mind was how the hotel staff cleaned our room every single day for two weeks. The city itself was also incredibleāthe streets were so colorful, full of culture, and had some of the best food Iāve ever tasted.
This trip honestly changed the way I see the world. It made me realize how much I want to travel and experience different cultures. Now, I canāt wait to visit more countries and see what else is out there! If you're looking for an amazing travel destination, Mexico should definitely be at the top of your list.
This is so cool! I would love to go to Mexico someday, I've heard amazing things about Puerto Vallarta especially. I would also like to visit Mexico City, as I've heard it's a good place to really feel immersed in the Hispanic culture, and that the food there is amazing. I can totally relate to the feeling of visiting a country and just wanting to travel more afterwards. Here's to more travels for us!
