We Made It, Class of 2025 🎓✨

Image
For my last week post I just want to give a big congratulations to all the senior marketing students who are graduating this year 🎓💛 We  finally  made it. All the late night study sessions and group projects that almost made us lose it and last minute runs to grab coffee before class ☕ all led us to this moment. Our hard work is paying off and we should be so proud of how far we have come. Thinking back to freshman year feels like a blur. Remember getting lost on the first day trying to find class 😂 or bonding with roommates over ramen noodles and movie nights 🍜🎬 From late night talks in dorms/apartments from cramming for finals in the library to surviving those 8 AMs after barely sleeping 😴 we’ve grown up here. Bradley has truly been our second home and we’ll miss it so much. And let’s be real Bradley will miss us too ❤️ It’s hard to say goodbye especially to the friends who turned into family 👯‍♀️ The laughs the tears the group chats that kept us sane we’re leaving a ...

✨Let’s Talk Skincare: My Routine, Ratings, and Real Results 💬

Image
Do You Love Skincare? 💖✨ If so, this blog is  totally  for you! This week, I wanted to share with you all what I’ve been using for years to take care of my skin and keep my face glowing. Let’s get into the tea ☕ on my personal skincare journey, product by product! CeraVe: 8/10 🧴 Okayyy, I’ve got a lot of thoughts on this one. It's super popular for beginners starting their skincare journey, and for good reason. I've heard tons of people say it helped clear their skin and gave great results. I only used it once (thanks to my mom because I was broke at the time 😂), and honestly, it was good but not good  enough  to keep me from exploring other brands. Proactiv: 8.5/10 💥 Ah yes… my  puberty-phase  skincare moment 😅. I used this back in high school when I had major anxiety about going to school with pimples  everywhere . I even begged my mom to get me the full set. It was expensive, so I didn’t stick with it long-term, but it actually helped a lot wit...

Week 10: My Social Media Journey 📱✨

Image
For this week, I wanted to share a little bit about myself and my passion for social media! 📱 I started using Facebook when I was just 8 years old (I know, super young to have my own account 😂), but honestly, it was really helpful. At that time, I used Facebook mainly to communicate with my mom while she was working out of the country. We would message each other, say how much we missed each other, and stay connected. 💬❤️    Right now, I have 2.6k friends on Facebook (and honestly, I don’t even know like 90% of them 😅). What I loved about Facebook was being able to stay connected with my friends from the Philippines. Seeing our photos and videos always made me think of them more. 🇵🇭📸 My perspective on Facebook has definitely changed over time. When I was younger, I thought getting tons of likes on a profile picture meant you were "popular" or "famous" 😎. Now, I kind of just see Facebook as a platform for "older people," selling second-hand stuff, a...

Week 9: The Queen of Squash 🥗👑

Image
For my blog this week, I want to focus on our last agency project for the T.E.A.M. team's content reel 🎥. My teammate Tia and I decided to review a restaurant from Peoria called Queen of Squash 🥗👑. We already knew about this place since I celebrated my birthday there 🎉, and we wanted to create content for them because they have a really good reputation as a local restaurant. So, what is the Queen of Squash? Queen of Squash started as a small, family-run restaurant built on a passion for bringing fresh, flavorful food to the community. It was founded by two sisters who grew up cooking together 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳, to create a space where people could enjoy healthy, seasonal dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. What began as a weekend farmers market stand quickly grew into a full-fledged restaurant, known for its creative takes on classic comfort foods 🍲. Today, Queen of Squash continues to blend homemade charm with a modern twist, making it a favorite spot for anyone who loves ...

Week 8: For My Matcha Lovers! 🍵💚

Image
Talking About Matcha 🍵 Can we talk about matcha? It’s one of those things that people either love or hate. For my Week 8 blog post, I wanted to dive into the topic of matcha, where it comes from, why people love it, and its rise in popularity. Where does matcha come from? 🌿 Matcha is a finely ground powder made from green tea leaves. It originates from East Asia, particularly within Japanese culture, where it has been a staple for centuries. The process of making matcha is unique, as the leaves are shaded before harvesting, which enhances their flavor and nutritional profile. Why do people love matcha? 💚 If you spend time on TikTok, you’ve probably seen influencers, small business owners, or even everyday coffee lovers posting their daily matcha rituals, whether it’s part of their "Get Ready With Me" routine or just a way to start the day. Matcha is more than just a drink; it’s a lifestyle, with countless recipes and ways to enjoy it. I recently came across a TikTok vide...

Job Search Tips

Image
Being a senior, I’ve been struggling to find full-time jobs. I don’t quite understand how it makes sense for the job market to be this tough right now. I’ve already applied for over 100 jobs, but I still can’t seem to find one that feels like the right fit for my career. We still have two and a half months left before graduation, so there’s time to prepare, but what are some tips we can share with each other to help find the right employer? Honestly, I’m starting to wonder, why is it so hard for us to find jobs right now? As I search, here are some tips I’m giving myself to stay prepared during this process, things I’ve learned from my own experience so far: ✅  Upload Your Resume ✅  Update LinkedIn ✅  Make Connections ✅  Prepare for Interviews ✅  CONNECT. CONNECT. CONNECT! Let’s start with the resume: It’s  crucial  to have an updated resume that’s tailored to the specific job you’re applying for. As a marketing major, I’ve realized I can expand my ski...
